The 328th Session of the ILO Governing Body is currently underway in Geneva, Switzerland. FKE CEO Jacqueline Mugo who is also a titular member of the ILO Governing Body is representing the Federation at the meeting that started on 27th October 2016 to 10th November 2016.

The Governing Body is the executive body of the ILO and meets three times a year, in March, June and November. It takes decisions on ILO policy, decides the agenda of the International Labour Conference, adopts the draft Programme and Budget of the Organization for submission to the Conference, and elects the Director-General.

Worker, employer and government representatives of the Executive Body of the ILO will discuss global employment and social challenges, review basic labour rights and take a decision on the re-election of the ILO Director-General for a second term. Kenya is the only country that has the Government, FKE and COTU-Kenya sitting as titular members in the Governing Body. For more details of the meeting please visit www.ilo.org.
