Mr. Stephen Obiro, Head of Advocacy, Consulting and Partnership at FKE represented Ms. Jacqueline Mugo at the 2023 Skills Up Africa Expo and Conference held at the University of Nairobi on 15th July 2023. The event was guided under the theme 'Skilling teachers, trainers and youth towards a transformative future'. Some of the top government officials present included:- Hon. Geoffrey Kaituko, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, Dr. Esther Mworia Principal Secretary, State Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Ministry of Education among others.
While making his remarks, Mr. Obiro affirmed FKE's commitment in enhancing skills for national development “FKE has been at the forefront in contributing to skills development in Kenya and the African continent at large to meet the current and future needs of the labour market. Kenya’s primary goal in skills development is to provide its citizens with the requisite skills that will foster economic growth, expand possibilities for decent work, and enhance the sustainability of business” said Obiro.
