The Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE), in collaboration with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), successfully hosted a free joint Employers’ Webinar on 29th May 2025, bringing together over 400 employers from across the country. The high-impact virtual session focused on equipping employers with vital knowledge on the newly simplified Pay As You Earn (PAYE) Return Filing System, an initiative aimed at enhancing tax compliance and easing administrative processes for businesses.
The session was officially opened by Mrs. Jacqueline Mugo, EBS, Executive Director and CEO of FKE, and Ms. Patience Njau, Deputy Commissioner for Taxpayer Experience at KRA, who both underscored the significance of strategic partnerships in promoting a transparent, efficient, and supportive tax environment.
Key insights were delivered by seasoned experts, including Ms. Lena Olum, Chief Manager of Policy and Tax Advisory at KRA, and Mr. David Busaule, Acting Manager for Business Strategy, Technology, and Enterprise Modernization at KRA. The presenters unpacked the enhancements in the PAYE filing system, providing step-by-step guidance and addressing frequently asked employer questions.
The webinar, moderated by Mr. Eric Munyobi, Manager, FKE Consulting & Training Services, and Mr. Stephen Obiro, Head of Advocacy, Consulting & Partnerships, was structured to facilitate engagement, demystify tax procedures, and provide a clear roadmap for employers navigating the evolving tax landscape. The event concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Samson Mugwe, Head of Finance & Procurement at FKE.
