Leaders and changemakers gathered at the KICC for an impactful celebration of World Youth Skills Day under the theme “Youth Empowerment through AI and Digital Skills.”

Distinguished speakers included Mr. James Mwaura (CEO, KICC), Geoffrey Odundo (Group MD & CEO, Nation Media Group), Gloria Wawira (Acting CEO, National Youth Council), Caroline Mugalla (ILO), Gideon Murenga (TVET Coordinator, GIZ Kenya), Representative from Cotu representing Dr. Francis Atwoli (SG, COTU-K), Dr. Esther Thaara Muoria (PS, TVET), and Shadrack M. Mwadime (PS, Labour and Skills).

Representing the voice of employers, Ms. Jacqueline Mugo, Executive Director and CEO of the Federation of Kenya Employers, emphasized the urgent need to modernize Industrial relations, support digital job creators, urging the youth that technology is not a threat but an opportunity investment the Federation's efforts in bridging the gap to enhance employability.

She championed youth as co-creators of solutions and called for greater integration of digital innovations into training programs.
