
Employers were represented at the Employment and Labour Relations Court (ELRC) Open Day held on July 22, 2024, at Milimani Law Courts, Nairobi. The event which was attended by judicial leadership and officers, judges government officials, and key stakeholders under the theme "Social Transformation through Access to Justice: Stakeholder Involvement in Effective Case Management," provided a platform for stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions and celebrate advancements in employment and labour relations emphasizing the critical link between legal frameworks and administrative policies.
Ms. Jacqueline Mugo, EBS Executive Director & CEO, FKE emphasized the critical role of the ELRC in fostering fair and effective dispute resolution in the labour market. Ms. Mugo highlighted the importance of the court’s adoption of Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms (ADR), in promoting mediation and reconciliation to maintain relationships and promote mutual understanding between parties. She also addressed the concern of an overly litigious environment, advocating for a balance between ensuring justice and fostering a harmonious and efficient working environment.
