Mr. Laurence Okelo, on his part, outlined key employer priorities, which included the establishment of a legal framework that supports enterprise growth, the entrenchment of social dialogue in managing the economy, positioning Kenya as a competitive production hub, and the promotion of ethical business practices alongside job creation.

Ms. Jacqueline Mugo, EBS, highlighted the leadership role that the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) plays both nationally and internationally, and reaffirmed the Federation’s commitment to partnering with the government to advance the country’s development agenda. She also spoke about the upcoming Africa Employers Summit, scheduled for 8th to 9th September at Emara Ole-Sereni, expected to shape the continental agenda on business growth and job creation.

He further urged employers to champion job creation and actively support the government’s internship program by absorbing young graduates into the workforce. Additionally, he emphasized the need for regular engagements between the government and employers to foster collaboration, address emerging challenges, and align efforts in advancing the country’s development agenda.
