the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE), in partnership with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), hosted a webinar attended by 450 employers to unpack the New Disability Act 2025.

FKE Executive Director Ms. Jacqueline Mugo emphasized FKE’s continued efforts to promote workplace inclusion, highlighting the Employer of the Year Awards, which recognize best practices in diversity and inclusion.

Mr. James Kariuki (NCPWD) and Mr. Laurence Murugu (Mute & Songa Advocates), being speakers at the webinar explained the key provisions of the Act, including definitions of disability, direct and indirect discrimination, and how employers can create inclusive workplaces.

Employers were encouraged to assess their environments for accessibility, tap into NCPWD’s portal of qualified job seekers with disabilities, and take advantage of available tax incentives and reasonable accommodations expected from employers.
